I agree with you on that one, Max.

humanimal, I would suggest that most women don't find hard, rough hands very desirable on a man, despite the fact that it's quite useful to have tough hands for climbing or crawling. I also know women who refuse to ride a bike for exercise because they think that having larger calf muscles is unattractive. Add to that all the various examples of cosmetic surgery that don't actually change the practicality at all, and I think there's enough evidence that practicality and aesthetics are not exactly the same thing.

Although I do agree with you about callouses, I was not referring to parkour but more the "ideal" male body.
Some people prefer to wear gloves while practicing parkour either to do with aesthetics or because of their profession.

humanimal, I'm refering to 'ideal male body' as well. I'm saying that the 'classic male body ideal' is an ideal of attractiveness, and is one based on appearances rather than functionality, and the two are not directly transferable.

Although the male body ideal does contain some indicators of practical elements, such as youth and low body fat, the ideal also contains some elements that are not directly connected to what is practical, such as smooth, soft skin and other cosmetics.
